Current Seasonal Forces and Patterns
In last month’s transit of the Sun through the sign of Cancer, most of us found comfort in our favorite places, celebrating the first trimester of Summer. Now in the midst of this glorious season, the positively charged rays of Leo unfold-- to make all individuals feel more expansive, more willing to leave their sheltered homes and strut out into the world-- to face whatever will come their way.
Once placed in this outer world, most individuals find there is little to fear, for this brightly lit world is filled with incredible riches and creative possibilities. This brings a sense of assuredness and it encourages many of us to take a stand-- to create a grander place to play!
Let’s eliminate the drab colors and paint the town with vivid colors. Let’s build a beautiful gazebo in the backyard and install a glittering chandelier in the living room. Naturally, it will be our Leo friends who come up with most of these grandiose and extravagant visions. Why not? Throughout the year, these lions see a world as abundant and rich as the light they see in the middle of Summer.
Experience the Drama with a Leo Friend
With their fixed fiery presence, these theatrical souls will proudly strut up on to any stage-- to announce their magnificent visions! Immediately, these Lions will try to fire up the creative ambitions of others to support their visionary plans. They may divert the course of a charging Aries Ram, arouse the sensations of a herd of Taurus Bulls, activate the minds of a gaggle of Geminis and torque the emotions of a pod of Cancer Crabs. Amazingly, the glow of confidence often inspires everyone to follow their royal decrees!
Leo is ruled by the Sun and perhaps that’s why some Lions believe everything revolves around them and they are the source of ALL creation. Many of those visions that they supposedly “created” were likely the ideas of others, but these cats tend to take the credit, since they firmly believe that they were the ones who made it possible.
Many of these cats are also extremely extravagant and opulent. They don’t believe in limits or budgets. Strangely, it all seems to work in their favor.
Leo Personalities and Celebrities
These theatrical qualities are different for every Leo. It depends on the other components in her chart.
Steve Carel’s Ascendant in Virgo makes him appear overly analytical and obsessed with details-- not a favorite trait for most lions. This mutable persona is enhanced by his Moon in Pisces, which frequently creates moments of unexpected confusion and bewilderment. Naturally, Steve covers it all up, by projecting the boastful confidence of his Leo Sun.
Melanie Griffith has all three of her main components in fixed signs! With her earthy Taurus Ascendant and the strong-minded fixations of her Aquarius Moon, the cubical traits we see in most fixed signs are obvious in her physical appearance. Therefore, of all of these signs, Melanie best displays the traits of her Leo Sun.
Whitney Houston, with her amazing singing talents, won acclaim from nearly everyone. A forcefully driven Aries Moon added to her Sun’s desire to be constantly in the center of the action. Sadly, Whitney’s Pisces Ascendant made her vulnerable to all of this constant attention and she was constantly overwhelmed by all of the fire.
James Cameron, (like Carel) also has a Pisces Moon to cool the heat of his radiant Sun. In a past Celebrity Snapshot (in DELL HOROSCOPE), this author speculated that he had a Scorpio rising. That accounts for the obsessive control he displays in his work. This water Ascendant compliments his Pisces Moon, and it explains the emotional affinity he has with the oceans of the world.
All of these celebrities show physical traits that resemble those of a lion. Griffith and Houston display the cubical skull and massive mane, the blocked forehead and the wide-set cheek bones and jaw. Both have the lion’s broad based nose and the jowls on the side of the mouth. Cameron demonstrates how many males tend to have an abundance of facial hair.
The Continuing Process and Other Current Cycles
This self-centered view is countered on the other side of the zodiac wheel in the sign of Aquarius. The balance of these two opposing signs gives us confident and creative individuals who, with their collective connection to others, contribute to the advancement of all of humanity.
In the coming month, the expansive perspective of Leo faces the restrained and practical reality of Virgo. There, the activation of mutable and mercurical forces will help us perform the service (and the physical work) that will make these magnificent creations possible!
